At the end of the day it’s all a scam to make money no matter where you go, just in Thailand you only pay one drug store and a drug company whereas at home you are also paying the offices of two doctors plus an insurance company and they all want a lot more money.

Today we are going to talk about where to get steroids in Thailand. There are lots of reasons you might want to get them. If you do decided to blindly walk into a random Thailand pharmacy and try to buy, one area you can run into problems is what you ask for. Don’t just walk in like a junkie and say gimme a box of Anadrol. First off all the drug companies have different brand names depending on what country they sell it in. This helps them to run their scam back home, forcing everyone to pay high rates, while they sell the exact same drug in Thailand with a different name for a much lower cost. So how do you figure out what to ask for? If you know the generic name of your drug this is usually enough. So for Anadrol the generic name is oxymetholone. But if you really want to impress your local drug dealer err I mean pharmacist you can ask for the Thai brand name, in this case the brand name is Androlic. If you only know the brand name of the drug in your country and want to find out what it is in Thailand one easy way is to head over and sign up for an account on MIMS.com. Then you can punch in the brand name for your country, get the generic name, and type this name into the Thai version of MIMS (just select the country from the drop down list). Then you get all the information including dosage, side effects and sometimes even pictures. Some other names you can look into are Anabol, Mesviron, Provironum, Stanztab, Diabenol, Somatropin, Co-Diovan (HGH), Nandro (nandrolone), etc.

Secondly their English may not be all that great despite what you may have heard. Maybe you’re from the UK and they only understand American accents. For this reason, whenever I go to the store I always write down the generic and brand name with dosage on a nice clean piece of paper that if you glanced quickly you might think it may have just come from the doctor’s office. They will usually smile and say Mee ka! (Have!). If so you are in luck. You just tell them how many you want and how much it costs. If you buy a large amount you can even ask for a discount. If you are too incompetent to handle even this just have your Thai girlfriend or one of your Thai buddies at the gym handle it for you.

Now which store to choose? Well there are a few different kinds of places you can buy drugs in Thailand. You have places like Boots that cater to westerners where you’ll find good quality stuff with English speaking staff but you’ll also pay top dollar and they may be wise to the farang ways and refuse to sell if they think you’ll abuse it.

Then you have just plain old ‘drug’ stores, sometimes the stores just say drugs. They might have what you’re looking for and at a cheap price too but the selection isn’t usually that good and these places don’t really know what they are doing. They might not speak English, it might just be some 14 year old kid working the place while her dad is out who has no idea what is going on. These places are also most likely to have something expired or fake so it pays to check the box if you find these types of places.

What you want is the nondescript quiet, clean place that has the word “Pharmacy” somewhere on the sign, not just drugs. Places next to hospitals or clinics are usually legit and you can also try some legit looking places in touristy areas as they don’t care what the farang do they just want to make a buck and they’ll still sell you good stuff (just use your head and discriminate don’t buy from a place blatantly advertising drugs of abuse). You are also likely to have success anywhere around a gym or Muay Thai arena (training or watching). There are tons of these all over the country and if you just open your eyes there’s probably one a two minute walk from where you are standing right now. These places will sell you all the gear you need to get the job done if you just walk in confidently, politely and know what you are doing and what you’re asking for.

If you can’t find it at any of these places your best bet is to ask someone at the gym or someone at the bar obviously geared up. They’ll be sure to point you in the right direction.

Whatever you do, just do your research. If you get caught you can get disqualified from your sport. If you don’t know how to use needles you can screw yourself up. Better go to your friend at the Muay Thai gym and ask him for a doctor. They might be addictive, cause depression or aggression. They can make your balls shrink, give acne, cause hair loss, cause men to grow breasts, increase your blood pressure, hurt cholesterol levels, and be bad for your heart and liver. But if you think the side effects are worth it then go for it, nobody here is going to stop you! Also if you try to bring them back home you can get busted by customs.
