Foreigners Die in Thailand every single day of the year. This is the list of the most likely ways one will meet their death in Thailand. It's meant to be a joke but still seriously I know of many farang deaths in Thailand and the list isn't that far from the truth.
1. Vehicle Accident
They say Asians can't drive. I used to think that only related to Asians but in my own country. That was until I started driving in Thailand. Not obeying road rules like indicating, stopping at red lights, slowing for pedestrians and speeding. How about driving a bus full of passengers in the rain and overtaking on a curve going through the mountains. This is what happens every day. Last year alone there were well over 35,000 thousand road fatalities in Thailand that's out of a population of 60 million. To put it in comparison there are 20 million people in Australia where there were 1,200 road fatalities. That's about 10 times more likely to have a fatal accident in Thailand than it is in Australia. Keep your eyes on the road.
2. Murdered By A Thai
There are so many different ways foreigners have died at the hands of another Thai that I couldn't possibly list them all here. However some of the favourite ways it seems Thais' kill other foreigners are by stabbings. If you get cut by a Thai person it won't be once, it'll be many times, they'll keep cutting you until there is nothing left to cut.
3. Murdered By Foreigner
Lately there has been a swing in trend of Thai murders Farang, it's now Farang Kills Farang. Swedes will kill Swedes, brits will beat up other brits, and Russians will kneecap other Russians. It's the way of the future here in Thailand.
4. Suicide
There is something magical about Thailand isn't there. Like a long lost paradise. Must be why so many people come here to off themselves. Cats run out of money, guys get screwed over, lose a girlfriend, or the problems they ran away from just don't seem to go away. Whatever it is it typically ends them jumping of a bridge or from a really tall building.
5. Killed by your Thai Girlfriend
If your the kind of guy that fools around on his girlfriend this is a likely way to meet your maker. There are two types of Thai Girls and two different ways to handle her with other women. First girl accepts it and your open with her, second girl repeatedly says she'll lop your head off. If your with the later girl, then you've got a 20% chance to still be breathing if you slap down that bar fine.
6. Being a successful Businessman in Thailand
If you make a successful business in Thailand and make loads of cash then hats of to you. Just watch your back mate! Just like Thai girls have a jealous streak so does the rest of the population. Tall poppy syndrome is rife in Thailand and Thai people hate to see other people do well, they want a piece of it too. So while your on your yearly trip to Vegas with the guys your Thai wife or business holders will write you out of your business and if you return and cause a fuss, they will strangle you, dump you in the river and make it look like a drowning.
7. Heart attack from sex with a young girl
Older gentlemen who frequent Pattaya often and load up on the little magic blue pills will certainly worry about parting earth this way. The excitement for a 60 year old to have a 20 year old young beautiful Thai girl writhing over his gets to be way too much for some people that they will die right there and then. The girl often flees from the scene and if police can't figure out he had a heart attack it too will go down as unexplained.
8. Food Poisoning
Think twice before you eat that sushi sitting on a side cart in front of 7 eleven, it could be the last thing you eat. Hundreds and hundreds of foreigners die in Thailand every year from sever food poisoning. The authorities can't find out where you ate once your already gone. Even if it's not from food off the street could even be a popular restaurant. You might want to hire someone to go around eating food for you in advance to help prevent this one.
9. HIV / AIDS
Thailand has a huge percentage of people with Aids and the prevalence of HIV infection while is down off it's highs in the 80's is resurfacing. This is probably due to the younger generation who arn't subjected to the blitz advertising that the government did back in the 80's. The younger generation are seemingly unconcerned about STD's and the harm that Aids can do and continue to practice unsafe sex. The rate of teenage pregnancies is rising and since no one is using protection like they used it's more likely than ever to catch the HIV virus and die of AIDS.
10. For reasons unknown and unexplained
Many deaths in Thailand go unexplained some conspirators say it's a cover up by the Thai police, the authorities might bring in experts and like most farang bodies get sent overseas for more tests all of them inconclusive. While we might never know how they really died, we do know that we don't know how they really died.
Fact: Thailand is the 2nd most likely country for tourists to die.

Who ever wrote this clearly has had some horrendous experiences in Thailand and evidently has been circulating in the wrong places and with the wrong people, a common case with many farangs (foreigners) and the increasing presence of low life classless foreigners visiting this beautiful country in the past two decades has not helped.
Of course any of this is possible but it is also possible in any other country.
Thailand is in fact one of the safest countries in the world in which both to visit and to live, all one needs is a brain and sufficient cop on and intelligence which applies to living anywhere.
You say that Thailand is “one of the safest countries in the world both to visit and live” the statistics show that that it is the most likely country where you will die as a farang bar one other. That is due to how many die statistically. You say the people who have died or been murdered did not have a brain or enough “cop on” (whatever that is) or enough intelligence. You sound like a twat basically an uncaring karma deserving fool.
My son Ben Harrington was killed on Koh Tao 2012, I have a petition which I am presenting to No 10 this week along with parents of others who have died in suspicious circumstances, we need to put out warnings for people going there

Arrrooohhhhhh..Thanks for the heads up Chris..That is some powerful information you posted..Although some of the reasons are common sense,it’s amazing to see how many reasons are culturally related..I was surprised to see that Thais have a “crabs in the bucket” mentality.

I have been travelling to Thailand for more than 24 years now, I also lived there for almost a year in 2005 and again 2007.
I always felt very safe no matter where I had been; that said I am almost 6ft tall, weigh 200lbs and carry myself with a presence; although I know that is no guarantee of safety.
Ones main concern for safety should be when crossing the road in traffic, watch where you are walking as people fall over all the time and to think twice before hiring a motorcycle or other vehicle.
In the most part I have only ever encountered politeness and a level of courtesy which is now practically non existent in the West. However, in the last number of years I have noticed a change and a less tolerant society and attitude towards foreigners in general. Perhaps this could partially be due to the fact that we foreigners are not so much a novelty as we once were.
Why this is I am not sure, perhaps some scientific study should be made.
Impolite and loutish behaviour is really an unacceptable No No in any society but most especially in Thailand. The moral of the story is; when in Rome, do as do Romans do and treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself.
99.999% of people who visit Thailand have a wonderful experience with cherished memories which usually last a life time. Millions upon millions of tourists visit this country and the numbers increase annually, evidently the word has gotten around and Thailand must have something going for it.
For now at any rate.
Thailand is a rotten hell hole. You go there as a tourist visiting Satan’s Kingdom. Demons flock to this land from all over this world, because it’s a successful trap to unwary souls. Many a farang has been swept into a Christless eternity for the pleasures of a night of sex and drugs.
When the Day of Reconing comes, this land and its people will feel the first strike of an angry God. Unless of course you have a passport to Heaven, which is only available from Calvary.

Oh, really I lived in the United States and I see murder, rape, theft every day on the news. As if those crimes weren’t bad enough, there’s mass shootings too and some of those shooting incidents are done by teenagers. Talk about a country getting out of control and losing it’s mind.

Ive been about 12 times now…each time a month…have a lovely isaan girlfriend….anyway… i have a few stipulations…i might share…i only drink out of closed bottles(or i watch him open them)…never in a glass…second..i dont touch the food carts or any fish….a few friends ate from the cart they were sick(farangs) for a week throwing up and diarrhea…you wouldnt swim in the mekong river..why the fark would you eat out of it….i hire hotels with kitchenettes….do all shopping and cooking from quality grocery stores or places like tesco or makro.i once mixed rice wine with thai whisky(her mother made it)…nearly chucked my liver out….thailands changing..there could be a changing of the guard…heaven help the foreigners…in the end..be polite…smile…dont argue…whats a few extra 100 baht…and to the poster above who said hes 6ft 200lbs….you make me laugh…if the thai wants you…dont worry..you aint coming out alive…be careful…times are a changing!!!
I am married to a lovely Thai lady she’s a teacher. Yes Ive had my moments of shouting with her but her loyalty to me beats any British girl I came so low without cash that she borrowed 200,000 baht for me in her name and promised things would be fine as some of you say dont go down dark roads, dont make a noise, respect all Thais even if their in the wrong as you may be aware its there country and their face. If its not important it doesnt matter.
Lots of people swim in the Mekong you fool. It’s perfectly clean in many places. My shower water comes directly from it, and I never got any problems, skin complaints and so on. I also cook with it, when it is boiled.

However Bangkok seems more commercial than before.

The article is not exaggerated, on the contrary its worse than so. Killings of farangs is a secret and organised business. Old men with a lot of money get repeatedly poisoned by their wife. Its called “Ya Sang”, poison from the jungle. The hospital recognize this quick and will never “burn their sister” and will add something to the Intravenous therapy that creates a massive stroke. When your blood pressure exceeds 200 and they move you away from the emergency the end is near. 3-4 nurses will guard you and they wont show the blood pressure readings. They are timing it so when the damage, the stokes and end organ damage is severe enough the will stop, and then make millions on the insurance and keep you alive for months or maybe a few years more.
A “perfect” harvest. The hospital get millions and the widow the rest. Thailand have only one religion, Thailand.
There are many westerners paid by Thai tourism who say thailand is a good place. I was a millionaire business man. Moved to Thailand started business there. I had my bank accounts drained. Was put on false charges was imprisoned and tortured by Thai police. And my ex business partner. The law firms in Thailand are conarists they work to keep you in trouble as long as they possibly can. They charge in us dollars. No westerner is allowed to practice law there. Many fake law firms and lawyer. Thailand is a hell like no other it is pretty like fire but will burn you alive. The judges are corrupt the cops are corrupt. Many foreigners are murdered there daily. They say they are accidents. Please don’t come here. They will kill you and leave you homeless in the street. There is a saying don’t Thai to me. Ever gangster and terrorist group operates out of here. It is really a shifty hell hole.

Tell that to an 88 year old mother that her son is dead, found in the hotel room, the Police took the money to transfer his body, all his stuff was gone, the Thai tried to cover up and make it hard to get his body brought home. Thousands of pounds was being put into a Thai family, they stole all his organs and wanted money to burn his body. What comes round goes round, no good will come to the horrible people who hurt him?
