Iranian Bomber in Bangkok blows his own legs off
Two explosions happened in Sukhumvit Soi 71 or Phrakanong, the first one damaging a taxi at Soi Pridi Bhanomyong 31 and injuring the driver and three other people while the second one exploded in front of the Kasem Pittaya School at Soi Pridi Bhanomyong 35.
A foreigner was found with his two legs blown off at the scene of the second explosion.
The road has now been closed off to traffic as police are concerned there may be more bombs hidden in the area. Those living in the area are urged to remain indoors.
All of the injured have been transported to the Kluaynamthai Hospital except for the foreigner who was transported to Chulalongkorn Hospital.
Doctors at Kluaynamthai Hospital said 2 of the injured have ringing in their ears while 2 others have non-life threatening wounds.
Police confirmed the foreigner is an Iranian named Sayed Murabi.
Police also reported another explosion at House Number 66 Pridi Bhanomyong Soi 31, which is said to be the rented home of the foreigner. He is said to have been living with two other foreigners who were not home when the explosion happened.
Police believe the Iranian national bombed his rented house first and then left the house and tried to hail down a taxi. When the taxi driver refused to pick him up, he got angry and threw a grenade at the taxi. Police then started pursuing him upon which he tried to throw another grenade at them but missed and blew off his own legs.
Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, who's on a provincial tour, has been informed of the bombings in Bangkok. Defense Minister Air Chief Marshall Sukumpol Suwanatat says he has ordered a check whether the explosions are a terrorist attack.

You know this doesn't exactly smell of a terrorist act in my mind because he threw it at a Taxi driver. What kind of terrorist throws a grenade at a taxi and police. Even terrorists arn't stupid they have motives and targets. Maybe if there was some political figure or someone of importance inside the taxi (which there is no mention of). Sounds like a bloody lunatic.
There is probably more to this story I'm sure. If it were a real terrorist he would have thrown the bomb on the road in front of Nana plaza during closing time. Could have just been a dispute about a cab fare but like the report said the taxi driver refused to pick him up.
This is all Thailand bloody needs is more reasons for people to not come here and be scared away, I hope they round all these guys up and blow them all up.

yeah some facts have yet to come to light in this case i think. i read an article a few days ago on the star.com that said the explosives accidentally blew up and blew the roof off the dude s house. then, all bloodied up, he tried to hail down a cab, who refused to let them in. at that point he threw the grenade at the taxi , which somehow bounced back at the iranian dude and blew his legs off.
