Sometimes it's good to be close to the action especially if you're on vacation and because Pattaya is super humid at night you really don't want to be too far. There is no real center of Pattaya but if I were to pick the place it would be Walking Street. This infamous road is where the largest concentration of go-go bars and nightclubs making it the center of Pattaya Nightlife.

Another one of my favorite hotels in Pattaya on Walking Street is the Areca Lodge Hotel. This is one of the most popular hotels in Pattaya with good reason. The rooms are all modern, hip, and cool with purple styling. Every room offers a sea view or city view, depending which side of the building you're on. The pool is one of the best in Pattaya and they offer lots of activities in the pool/garden area. Has someone moved the Hilton to Walking Street? Was on Beach road last time I saw it. 😉
lol hotels (close to walking street)
I’ll put in a good word for the LK (Le Kitchen) on soi 12, Beach road. The food is an outstanding mixture of French/Thai. The best food I ate in Thailand. Its not cheap either, but the room service price is the same as the resturaunt price. They have a great breakfast buffet every morning for a good price on the beach The rooms are like elegant French, large, nice views of the sea, whirlpool baths, etc. Its over B6k/night in high season, but in low season you can get a sea view room for under B3k. And if you happen to get depressed, there is a nice pool outside down below of the balconies! lolol!
I have a question.
