American man dies on toilet in Chiang Mai Thailand hotel
Yesterday the 7th september 2011 an elderly American man was found dead and naked in the bathroom of his hotel room in what appears to be a suicide. Randolph Wade Morgan 65 years old was found dead by staff at the Chiang Mai Residence in the chang puak area of Chiang Mai in room 511. Police were called to the scene immediately to investigate.

The room was located on the 5th floor and Mr Randolph was just visiting Chiang Mai, police entered the room and found him laying dead over the toilet seat wearing nothing but a cream coloured t-shirt. Forensics were there and said that he had died in the past 48 hours.
Inside the room police found a pile of books and a picture of a handsome Thai man. And two bottles of sleeping pills. They also found Mr Randolphs belongings clothes, laptop, shoes piled together with a note to his family and money for police to send a package to his family back in America. There were four letters in total.
The manager of the Chiang Mai Residence says that Mr Randolph had rented the apartment on a 3 month contract since June 5th. So when he didn't come out of his room and it had been a few days past the contract date employees tried to call him and knock on his door but he didn't come out. So they decided to enter the room to investigate that's when they found his dead body in the bathroom.
The guy in the next room to Mr Randolph told police and reporters that Mr Randolph would often bring back goodlooking young Thai gay men into his apartment.
Police at the scene are concluding that the man committed suicide because of the evidence found in his room, the packed bellongings, the letters to his family, the empty sleeping pills which were used to kill himself, but no ultimate conclusions are going to be made until a full investigation has finished.
